|
£865 / Item Ref.# 30241
A regal Valentino ball gown, from the 1994 spring/summer collection.
Fashioned from a luxurious coppery duchesse silk satin, and constructed
with an applied overskirt which trails down the sides and back of the gown
into a train.
Featuring a finely detailed bossom-area, comprising of a sweet-heart
neckline—which features micro-pleats done in an arch to flow with the cut
of the neckline, and ending in a large bow. Also at the waist, are
graduated lengths of stitched pleats. Thus, notice how every detail, small
or large (such as this) has been carefully perfected.
The overskirt has an internal backing of startched tulle, to help
maintain it's voluminous shape at all times, whilst the underside is
covered with the satin. It's fully lined, and the interior bodice even has
an organza partial lining which extends only to the hips for extra
smoothness and comfort, both this lining and the dress fasten with
zippers, there is also an interior petersham waistband, whilst also having
a built-in wired brassiere (lined in satin).
Labelled, Valentino / Boutique / Made in Italy, with the
client number stamped. Without a doubt, it's a sublime,
couture-quality & court worthy example! With resources for vintage
Vogue editions, the gown would have reatiled new during 1994 for appx.
