A provocative & feminine Bill Blass negligeé-style evening dress, c.1975-85. Fashioned from black silk chiffon, and trimmed throughout with black lace. The dress has been cut in the manner of a peignoir, with it's full sheer sleeves and robe-like / open fronted appearance. This is an utterly sexy style!

 

During the 'Boho-London' & Gunne Sax period, it was quite a fashion-forward gesture to be seen wearing Edwardian undergarments as outer clothing, and in this example, the delicacy of the cut and lace are reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century peignoir.

 

It's lined and has an internal slip, fastens with a zipper and hook and eyes, labelled Bill Blass. The abundantly lace trimmed & full sleeves, are a scrumptous marvel!
