Feminine & flowing Chanel silk chiffon spring/summer skirt & blouse ensemble, c.1999 pret-a-porter collection. Fashioned from a watercolour / impressionist floral printed chiffon, with a delicately flowing full length skirt and button-front blouse.

 

The set has a vintage vive—very reminiscent of the 1940's with it's Hawiaan flair, and peplum detailing. Throughout the material is the discreet Chanel / Paris signature done in a think black font to appear as though it were a handsigned artist's mark.

 

Detailed at the waist with a wide band of smocking- providing a figure flattering shape combined with the peplum frill! The slit detail in the skirt can be worn at either the front, side or back as there does not appear to be a true front or back to the skirt.

 

The blouse fastens at the front with a series of small buttons and the skirt fastens with a zipper. Whilst the blouse is unlined & sheer, the skirt is backed with an interior slip. Shown with a vintage Chanel single-strand baroque pearl necklace which is not part of the ensemble. Would have retailed new for appx. between $3.5-4K!
