The word on the red carpet and with celebrities is without a doubt, vintage Vicky Tiel! Lists of celebrities/actresses have been spotted wearing Tiel's figure-flattering and dazzling fashions at the Oscars & red carpet events, to include Lindsay Lohan, Rita Wilson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kiele Sanchez.

 

It's no wonder, with a superb couture creation such as this spectacular gown- fashioned from luxurious black silk taffeta, with fine ruching and sculptural, spiraling ruffles applied to the waist, and allowed to undulate in their free manner, acting as an overskirt to the ruched mini-skirt which lies beneath.

 

The effect the spiraling ruffled 'overskirt' gives, is a sheer stunner! It shapes and frames the wearer's legs in a tasteful manner, whilst giving a sexy appeal! The taffeta ruffles have been constructed with an interior layer of tulle for shaping, yet rest assured, there is an further third layer of the silk taffeta which lies against the skin, so's not to cause skin irritation from the roughness tulle can have.

 

It fastens to the back with a zipper and interior waistband, and built in corset-like foundation including a brassiere. The interior construction has been beautifully finished in the couture manner, and is lined in silk, labelled Vicky Tiel Couture / Paris. With references from 1980's Vogue editions, if bought new, the dress would have cost appx. $8-10K during the 80's!
