What a rarely found- pristine condition irish
crochet lace textile! This fine example of Edwardian white lace wear, is
fashioned completely from handmade Irish crochet lace! It dates to the
Edwardian period around c.1910-15, and it bears the femininity
and delicate elgance that Edwardian whites & fine lace appreciators-
both, have come to adore in vintage/antique clothing.
The aren't any fastenings and
it simply can be worn open to the front (as most likely intended) or
fastened by the use of a small brooch. The body of the jacket features
finely crocheted lace with large "medallions" of the
thick, three-dimensional textured lace. I love the way the
back portion flares with looseness- creating such gentle,
elegance! A sublime array of marvelous, skilled handwork
& a treasure!
Measurements: (keep in
mind that the style of the jacket was probably meant to be open at
the front) fully closed it measures a 36" Bust, and a lengh
from the shoulder to the longest point of 37".
The condition is Mint! |
