This tea gown is a feminine example of a romantic period! It is
fashioned from cream silk faille, and with silk brocade panels. It
obviously must have been a creation from a prestigous local fashion house,
as the detailing and use of materials is simply exsquisite! From the last
of the bustle periods, having slight accomidation for a bustle
undergarmemnt and slight train.
I love the way the richly decorated skirt is paired with a romantic
and simple bodice- having only layers of ruffled silk. The skirt is
marvelously decorated with faceted amber glass beads, and there are panels
to the skirt of gathered silk failled overlaid with the faceted beads.
Fully lined in silk, and the skirt has a pleated gauze lining with a lace
dust ruffle (as illustrated below). Inside and out, the gown is a sublime
work of quality and beauty. Wholesome charm is a wearable and beautiful
belle epoque tea gown!
Measurements: Bust 34", Waist 23",
full hips. Skirt length at front 41" / back 48".
The condition is Excellent- and would be pristine, except for some minor wear to one of the skirt's linings. |
